What is your Blog?

I asked myself this question early this morning as I was taking a 5.9 mile walk around town. "Self," I said, "What is your blog?" 

The answers were like the book, "Are you my Mother?" Every time I asked, the answer was "No, I am not your blog!" That is until I met the Kiosk at the University.

I asked the Kiosk. "Are you my blog?"

"No," said the Kiosk, "I am not your blog. I'm standing outside the University Gym. People put flyers on me that interest students. A Kiosk has to stand in the right place."

"Oh," said I, "I have a kiosk!"

"Really, where is it?"

"It's on Amazon. It has a list of all the books I've published. "It's my Amazon Kiosk!"

As I left the Kiosk, I started looking for more blogs to ask. I thought of asking a newspaper.

There wasn't a newspaper in sight, so I had to ask mentally.

"Are you my blog?"

"No," said the Newspaper, "I am not your blog!" 

"How do you make money?"

"People read my articles. Advertisers pay to place their ads around the articles. I make money from the advertisers."

"What is the secret to your success?"

"Circulation, circulation, circulation! Magazines work the same way."

"I have a magazine!"

"You do?"

"Yes, it's my blog about a virtual hike around the 48 states. People read about my journey and I make money when they click on the ads on the sidebar. I have to keep the posts interesting to increase circulation."

I asked a Book, "Are you my blog?"

"Not exactly. But I am like a blog where people write about their passion."

I responded, "This gives you complete freedom! I know because I write books about my passion and it has taken me to the top!"

"This book is about one of my passions!"

"Yes it is," exclaimed the Book. "Many recreational bloggers should consider writing a book."

What is this Blog?

This blog is a magazine about blogging. It will also give me ideas for my next book.
